Will survive democracy in Italy? The dark side of the country

January 25, 2008 at 10:37 am (Politics) (, , )

And now? I’m too sad for my Romano Prodi, maybe the only italian who try since many years, with intelligence and passion, to get a normal country from this slob Italy. After having started a strong rehabilitation of public accounts, wonderful in less than two years. Who’s sin?

The great sin is Mastella, who sold himself to Berlüsca, to save his ass and his wife’s from legal trouble.

The great sin is our leftist talibans, always disdaining first steps in name of mythical Earthly Paradise.

The great sin is Berlüsca, who falses a correct democracy with too much money and too much power on free information, and now will return full of revenge and greed to plunder improved accounts, for his personal insatiable gain and his gang.

The great sin is the Italian Catholic Church, which since last electoral campain had preferred the bad Berlüsca to good christian Prodi, betraying the God of our honest worker fathers for a condoned ICI and shabby god Berlüsca. I’ll leave their churches in name fo that God, have them full of berlüscas.

The great sin are Democratic Party leaders, thinking the Romano Prodi’s presence too cumbersome for the Berlüsca’s promise of government of large cartels, in particular Walter Veltroni and Massimo D’Alema. The promise of this tycoon was only to weaken Prodi;
Berlüsca is always ready to break his promise. If they cannot understand this easy fact, why they do politics? Berlüsca’s reasoning is: Why negotiate with PD a new voter law, when I can win with this and then change all to my own pleasure?

The great sin is my nation, which maybe not worth saving from itself, little foxes whose most favoured sentence is: Provided that fits myself. Maybe we have a bad god who get us in the black hole of constant emergency.

Alright, maybe now my soul is too sad and bitter, but I’m too old for waiting always the next chance. While the poor Martin Luther King could say I have a dream, I’m tired to say: I had a dream.

Will survive democracy in Italy? For whom the bell tolls

January 22, 2008 at 8:57 am (Politics) (, , , )

John Donne and Ernest Hemingway may have mercy on my arrogance using their sentence, but it’s so suited to the moment. In these hours the bell tolls, not for Romano Prodi, but for Italy.

Romano is last chance being a normal country, but perhaps we don’t like to be a normal country. We prefer the sad jokes and trivial of Berlüsca, this tycoon petty and cheating, eager only for his own business, and now of revenge.

God save Italy by him and by stupid Italians. But perhaps there is no hope, He too is with berlüsca. But a day He must give me the reason, and I’ll not be a lenient judge.

A good address to remember

January 19, 2008 at 3:41 pm (Trifles) (, , , , , )

Today no politics, italian or american. In poor Italy and confused, it is somewhat cold, but sun is shinning and life is still beatiful, also with problems.

This is the reason of invitation, if you pass from Rome, to have a look to the restaurant of my friend, Al Piccolo in Via Santamaura 65, Prati Rome. You may see a preview here Al Piccolo, or here Al Piccolo.

He and his little staff are working with passion and art to accommodate all in a beautiful and relaxing place, giving you all the best of italian kitchen. Think his care arrives to cook your bread personally - this is true class - you may imagine the rest.

What can I add? Oh yes, let you try and if you’ll have anything to complain, ask me satisfaction.

About Israel-Palestine peace

January 18, 2008 at 9:21 am (Politics) (, , , )

I perfectly remember, as now, when I was in Sinai, after a long journey in the desert.
«I’m too old to continue this neverending trip, but you, who may choose, look for a better country, Moses.»

Poor Moses! He was set with his Promised Land, full of rocks and sand, and lack of water. There had been at least somewhat oil!

The bwana Bush wars, Free thoughts on travel in the Middle East

January 17, 2008 at 2:02 pm (Politics) (, , , , , )

The bwana Bush tour through Middle East is ending. I can try some conclusion.

  • About Israel-Palestinias peace he cannot be fond lesser, in Italy we say he likes as a blissful broad bean.
  • Bush is more interested in oil barrel price, asking Saudi, family friends, to increase production. If they are also US friends, it’s a thoght not touching him and his Administration. Also thought being the principal cause of high prices doesn’t touch him. Maybe tought doesn’t touch him simply.
  • Everywhere he has been, his first thought was to threaten Iran a terrible fate.

Well, regard to the last point, I note he wasn’t in great shape, did better in the past. Maybe awareness of the limits of threats had something to do, after the ugly proves in Afghanistan and Iraq, where his army may get chaos but no control. Sure, I can destroy a city or two, but is unable to force obedience.

Time is short, and flying fastly to Presidential round, and this isn’t a woderful start of new war marketing. You must do better to sell it, bwana Bush.

Perhaps US Administration doesn’t need to sell, it can bomb and post mortem eventually submit to the judgement of parliament or voters. Strange democracy! We don’t talk about potatoes, but persons. If parliament or voters don’t approve, they still live?

Sometimes the American people looks like John Rambo, who does not feel loved and beats head to the other saying – Love me! Love me! Why not?
